A new search option has been added to Dynamics 365 CRM which puts the global search front and centre.
Once enabled the search appears right in the middle of the top menu bar, just like it does in Word, Excel etc.
As you start to type into the search bar, the application will offer suggested matches that you can select rather than having to fully type the word and then search.
You can also select “More Results” at the bottom, which takes you into a page sorted by area, giving views with more column information and you can select records from there.
How do I get this?
If you are on Dynamics 365 in the cloud you will get the ability to turn on this functionality in your 2020 Wave 2 updates.
Note: Your system needs to be configured behind the scenes for “Relevance Search” as you may be set to be using “Categorised Search”. The “Relevance Search” would then need to be configured for which areas the search is conducted in. If you are the D365 system administrator then you will be able to do this, otherwise please get in touch and we can assist you in the set up.
